ShopRunner Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to your interactions with our websites and any mobile applications, interactive features or online or offline services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by ShopRunner, Inc. (“ShopRunner”). By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy. Please also review the Terms of Service, which governs your use of the Services.



We, and our service providers operating on our behalf, may collect different categories of Personal Information about you depending on the nature of your interactions with us. “Personal Information” is information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could be linked to you or your household, either on its own or when combined. We also collect and generate other information that is not Personal Information (“Non-Personal Information”), for instance information that does not identify or relate to you, or information that has been de-identified or aggregated.

  • Contact Information: Your name, email address, social media handles, mailing address, and phone number; and your ShopRunner account information (such as username and password).
  • Purchase and Preference Information: Your order history, such as what products you have purchased through ShopRunner Services or on Retailer sites, and whether you have returned any products. We may also collect information about your product, style, and shopping interests and preferences, including which products or offers you view and interact with, or which products you add to your cart or your wish list. Our tracking tools on Retailer sites may collect order information on the order confirmation page, including order ID number, product codes, shipping method, and products eligible for ShopRunner benefits.
  • Internet, Usage, and Device Information: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our Services, Retailers’ sites, and our online content. We collect your IP address and other unique identifiers for the devices used to access the Services, the browser and operating system you are using, the URL or advertisement that referred you to our Services, the search terms you entered into a search engine that led you to our Services (if applicable), which Services you use or otherwise interact with, which of our advertisements you click on, the areas within our websites and Retailers’ websites and other online platforms that you visit, the time of day, and the products that you searched, viewed, purchased, and shipped through our Services and our Retailers’ sites, among other information. In addition, if you download the mobile apps, we will collect information about your mobile app interactions and usage.
  • Location Information: We may be able to collect or infer your approximate location through information we collect, such as an IP address or zip code. We may also collect precise location information from your devices if you have opted-in to such collection through one of our mobile applications. You may be able to turn off the collection of location information through your device’s settings.
  • Employment-Related Information. If you apply for a job, we will collect information you submit with your application, such as your work experience, education history, resume, the URL to your personal or professional websites, workplace skill sets and certifications, and whether you need a visa to work in the United States. If you apply for a job with us via the Services, you may voluntarily provide us with self-identifying information (such as veteran status, gender and ethnicity, and disability status) in connection with laws and regulations enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (“OFCCP”) and similar state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Payment Information. Registering for and using certain ShopRunner Services may require you to pay online, and therefore require that you provide your credit card or other payment information.
  • We develop Inferences. Using the other pieces of Personal Information collected about you, we draw inferences about you, reflecting what we believe to be your preferences, characteristics, predispositions, and attitudes.


We, and our service providers operating on our behalf, collect Personal Information from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from you when you provide it. We collect information when you create an account, contact us, make a purchase or return, sign up for our marketing communications, enter a contest, submit reviews or other content, using a ShopRunner Service on our website or on a Retailer site, or otherwise contact us.
  • Automatically from your devices. We use a variety of technologies that automatically or passively collect information from your devices whenever you visit or interact with the Services, including opening and reading e-mails we send you, and when you view or click on our ads and online content, or visit one of our Retailer sites while signed in.
  • From service providers we hire to work on our behalf. We may get information from service providers we eDirectly from you when you provide it. We collect information when you create an account, contact us, make a purchase or return, sign up for our marketing communications, enter a contest, submit reviews or other content, using a ShopRunner Service on our website or on a Retailer site, or otherwise contact us.ngage, such as those that host or maintain our websites and mobile apps, send promotional emails for us, help us with customer communications and customer service, conduct research and analytics for us, or provide marketing and advertising services.
  • From other businesses. For example, if you are on another website and you agree to receive information from ShopRunner, that website may forward information to us so that we may contact you. We also receive information from Retailers when you make purchases utilizing ShopRunner benefits. And we may get information from joint marketing partners and other business partners with whom we have a relationship. Mobile service providers may also provide information based on the device used to access the Services. And, if you post about ShopRunner or the Service on another platform, that platform may give us access to your content, including any information you included in your content.
  • From social media platforms. If you post to one of our pages on a social media site or sign into the Services with your credentials from a social media platform, we may receive information, including information contained in your social media profile. You acknowledge and understand that we can access this information even when you are not actively using the Services. We may also receive information about you if other users of social media give us access to their profiles and you are one of their “connections.”
  • From your friends who refer you to us. If a friend purchases a ShopRunner membership for you through the Services or invites you to sign up for ShopRunner Services, or otherwise provides information about you, we will get any information provided by your friend.
  • We combine information about you. We may combine the information we receive from other parties with information we collect through the Services. We combine information collected offline, such as information collected about you when you interact with our call center, with information collected online. We also combine information collected across devices, such as computers and mobile devices.


We may use Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • For marketing purposes. We may use information to tailor the content, recommendations, and offers we or our Retailers display to you, both on the Services and elsewhere online. We may also use your information to deliver and provide you with targeted advertising and to contact you with personalized offers from us, our advertisers, or business partners, including promotional emails and text messages.
  • To provide the Services. We may use your information to allow you to participate in the Services and features offered through the Services, such as recognizing you and keeping you signed in to your ShopRunner account across websites, providing you with services or information; fulfilling transactions; facilitating orders you place through our Services and enrollment in the ShopRunner Services; authorizing and processing your registration and membership and any membership payments, including verifying that your email address or other information is active and valid; and processing benefits like free shipping and returns.
  • To improve the Services. We may use information to enhance and improve our products, services (including customer service), and the Services.
  • For analytics purposes. We use information to count visitors to our website or Retailer sites, to count other interactions with the Services, to monitor how users navigate the Services and Retailer sites, to count how many emails that were sent were actually opened, and to count how many particular links were actually viewed.
  • To communicate with you about administrative matters. We may use information to contact you with regard to your use of the Services or similar administrative communications, including, without limitation, security, support and maintenance advisories, changes to the Services’ policies, providing customer service, such as resolving any billing or payment processing inquiries, and responding to your questions or concerns.
  • To customize your experience. We may use your information to remember you and your preferences and to provide you a more tailored experience on the Services.
  • For security purposes. Depending on the circumstances, we may need to use information for security and fraud detection purposes and to protect ShopRunner (including our websites and mobile apps), Retailers, and our members and customers from errors, misuse of the Services, fraud, or any criminal activity.
  • To administer the Services in conjunction with Retailers. We may use information to communicate with Retailers about your purchases and use of the ShopRunner Services and to allocate costs for providing the Services between ShopRunner and its Retailers.
  • For hiring purposes. We use information to facilitate your job search via the Services, review your job applications, and contact you about employment opportunities.
  • As required by law. We may use information as necessary to comply with regulatory and legal obligations. If you choose to voluntarily submit self-identification information as part of a job application (such as veteran status), we will use that information for legal compliance and tracking purposes (not for hiring decisions), in accordance with applicable law.
  • As disclosed to you from time to time. We may use information for the purposes disclosed at the time you provide your information, or otherwise with your consent.
  • To verify requests made pursuant to this Privacy Policy. We will use information to verify your identity if you make requests regarding your Personal Information pursuant to this Privacy Policy. The verification steps and the pieces of Personal Information that we request may vary depending on the sensitivity and nature of your request.

We may use Non-Personal Information for the below purposes and for any other lawful purpose.


ShopRunner may freely share Non-Personal Information with other parties in our discretion. We may share your Personal Information as disclosed at the time you provide your information, or otherwise with your consent, or as described below:

  • With Service Providers Operating on Our Behalf. We sometimes use suppliers to perform services for our own business and operational purposes. We may share information with service providers that provide website hosting, conduct website usage analysis, protect against and investigate security incidents, send email or other communications, administer our Services, provide advertising or marketing assistance, track advertising impressions and provide data analysis. We may also provide information to service providers that process payments for us (including without limitation clearing and processing credit card payments).
  • With Retailers. We may share information with Retailers if you use the ShopRunner Services to make a purchase or otherwise engage in a transaction with a Retailer or on a Retailer’s site. For example, if you use our 2-Day Shipping program, we may provide your email address to help connect your ShopRunner account to your account with the Retailer. If you use our ShopRunner Express Checkout Services, we may also disclose payment-related information to Retailers to initiate the checkout process and to allow the Retailer to process your purchase.
  • Sweepstakes, Contests and Promotions. If you win a sweepstakes, contest, or promotion, we may disclose or publish your first name, last initial, city, and/or state as required by law (such as on a winners list). If you enter a sweepstakes, content, or promotion we are offering with a Retailer or other business partner, we may disclose the submission or entry information you provide to us with such Retailer or partner.
  • Administrative and Legal Reasons. ShopRunner may transfer and disclose information to comply with a legal obligation; when we believe in good faith that the law requires it; at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation; to verify or enforce our Terms of Service or other applicable Services policies; to respond to an emergency; or otherwise to protect our rights, property, safety, or security or that of other Services users/visitors or the public.
  • Business Transfers. In the event that ShopRunner is sold, has all or a portion of its assets acquired or transferred, whether voluntary or involuntary (such as through bankruptcy), or merges or becomes affiliated with any other division, individual or entity, including, without limitation, during the course of any due diligence process related to the foregoing, your information may be one of the transferred assets.
  • Social Networking Features. The Services may permit or facilitate interactions with an interactive third-party website or social media, such as enabling you to “like” or “share” content from the Services or to “like” or “share” our page or Retailers’ pages on a third-party service. If you choose to share content or otherwise post information from or via the Services to social media, that information, including any information you include in such posts, may be publicly viewable, and other parties may have access to information about you and your use of our Services.
  • Community Forums and User Submission. The Services may provide you the opportunity to submit messages and reviews of Retailers or products and to post content publicly in forums, through interactive features and through other communication functionality. Please note that any information you post (e.g., your name and/or username, or the product(s) you purchase), may be publicly displayed when you post the submissions.


Marketing Emails and Text Messages: You can opt out of receiving newsletters or other marketing emails from us by following the link provided in each such email received. If you signed up to receive SMS or MMS messages that may be offered through the Services, you may unsubscribe from any text messages received by replying “STOP”. You may also adjust your account settings on However, please note that we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to your use of our Services, service announcements, notices of changes to this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service or similar administrative or transactional messages, and these messages may be unaffected if you choose to opt out from marketing communications.

Cookies and Tracking Tools: You may be able to refuse or remove some or all of the cookies and other tracking technologies on the Services through your browser settings. You can delete cookies by going to the preferences, tools or options menus of your browser. If you choose to do so, some features of the Services may not function properly. Selections you make are device-specific and browser-specific, meaning that you may need to make your selections on each browser on each device you use to access the Services.

About Our Ads / Interest-Based Advertising: ShopRunner may work with network advertisers, ad agencies, analytics service providers, and other vendors to serve advertisements on our websites and in connection with the Services; to serve our advertisements elsewhere online; and to provide us with information regarding use of and traffic on our websites and in connection with the Services. We also use tracking tools to recognize new or past customers, store your password if you are registered on our site. improve our website, and better understand the interests of our customers and our website visitors.

These advertisements may be tailored based on information collected automatically (through tracking tools like cookies and web beacons) about your activities in connection with the Services and other websites, mobile applications, and services you visit, over time and across different devices you use and across the various websites and platforms you visit. “Do Not Track”: Some Internet browsers may be configured to send “Do Not Track” signals to the online services that you visit. There is no consensus among industry participants as to what “Do Not Track” means in this context. Like many websites and online services, our websites and other Services do not alter their practices when it receives a “Do Not Track” signal from a visitor’s browser. Third-Party Account Links: You may have the opportunity to login to your ShopRunner account by linking it to your account with a third party. If you later remove access to ShopRunner through that third party account, we will honor that request within a reasonable time period.

Removal of Publicly Posted Content: A registered user of the Services has the right to request the removal of certain content that (s)he has publicly posted on a Services platform by contacting us at When submitting a request, please be sure to include your full name, email address, and information sufficient to permit us to locate the User Submission(s) for which you are requesting removal (e.g., for product reviews, a URL of the product page and the user name under which you posted your review). At our discretion, we may remove only your Personal Information, but maintain the rest of your User Submission or otherwise anonymize your User Submission in lieu of removal. Note that any removal or anonymization of your public postings in accordance with these procedures does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information you posted, which may persist in archival records or may have been copied by third parties while publicly accessible.

Additional Privacy Rights: In addition to the above rights and choices, you have the right to:

  • Access your Personal Information. You may request, up to two times every 12 months, that we disclose to you the following: (i) the categories of Personal Information that we have collected about you; (ii) the categories of sources from which we have collected Personal Information about you; (iii) the categories of Personal Information that we have disclosed about you for our business purposes in the last 12 months and the categories of third parties to whom the Personal Information was disclosed, by category or categories of Personal Information for each Third Party to whom the Personal Information was disclosed; and (v) the specific pieces of Personal Information that we have collected about you.
  • Deletion of your Personal Information. You may request that we delete the Personal Information we maintain about you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Opt-Out / Do Not Sell My Info. We do not believe we sell your Personal Information as set out in California and Nevada law. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “sell” means the sale, rental, release, disclosure, dissemination, availability, transfer, or other oral, written, or electronic communication of your Personal Information by ShopRunner to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration.

In addition, Retailer sites that support ShopRunner benefits may link to our Services. These third parties may collect information about you through the use of their own cookies and web beacons, independently collect data or solicit Personal Information, and may have the ability to track your use of their sites and services. ShopRunner is not responsible for the privacy or other practices employed by any third party.


With respect to personally identifiable information that ShopRunner obtains solely in connection with your use of Apple Pay, ShopRunner may use such personally identifiable information to send you communications about your transaction. Shoprunner will not use personally identifiable information obtained solely in connection with your use of Apple Pay for marketing purposes unless you sign into your ShopRunner account before, during, or following the transaction.

We may use, for any purpose, information that does not identify you or relate to an identifiable individual, except where we are required to do otherwise under applicable law.


While ShopRunner takes commercially reasonable steps designed to secure your Personal Information, no data transmission over the Internet, wireless transmission or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. ShopRunner cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information we collect. Further, ShopRunner is not responsible for your Personal Information after it is provided to a Retailer. You use our Services and provide us information at your own risk.


ShopRunner is a United States company, intended for use within the United States. Please be aware that information we collect will be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions. By using the Services or providing us with any information from outside of the United States, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of your information in the United States and other jurisdictions, for which the privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you reside and/or are a citizen.


We reserve the right to change or modify this Privacy Policy in our discretion at any time and will notify you of material changes by posting the changed or modified Privacy Policy in connection with our Services.
